Ms. Diamond has a long history of
hostility to neighborhood associations.
Although few, if any, neighborhood associations took a stand on 800
High, the above statement invites the reader to believe otherwise.
This is another standard "spin" tactic - use
a vague description ("group") qualified by "some" to create an irrefutable
statement that imputes a characterization that would not stand up to scrutiny.
Ms. Diamond could equally well have used
"Some groups of joggers opposed this housing, ..." or "Some people who drive
BMWs ..."
